Examining Board of Cosmetology or Beauty Specialists
Cosmethology Theory/ Written Exam
Requirements
- Applicant must be at least 16 years of age at the time of submitting application.
- Upload a recent 2 x 2-inch digital photo of the applicant (ex. passport photo). Photo must be taken in the last 6 months, must be in color and with a solid background (ex. blue or grey). Photos can be taken with an electronic device and must be uploaded in .jpeg, .png or .jpg formats ONLY. PDF format is not accepted for images. Photos with white background, hats or glasses WILL NOT be accepted.
- Upload PDF of diploma or certificate showing that grade 8th grade or above has been completed.
- Upload PDF of Cosmetology Diploma from an accredit school.
- For Cosmetology programs completed in an accredited Public or Vocational schools, please upload PDF of the Cosmetology Diploma showing that the required 1,000 hours of study have been successfully completed. For the diploma to be accepted, it must show that it was awarded by an accredited school, recognized by the Examining Board or the Department of Education.
- For Cosmetology programs completed in Private schools, please upload PDF of the Cosmetology Diploma or Transcript of Credits showing that the required 1,000 hours of study have been successfully completed. For the diploma or transcript of credit certificate to be accepted, it must show that it was awarded by an accredited beauty school, recognized by the Examining Board or the Department of Education.
